Yes. Temperatures at sunrise usually range between -10°C and 0°C, and in the southern winter they can drop as low as -20°C. It's essential to dress warmly in layers, paying special attention to closed-toe shoes, thermal socks, a hat and gloves.
⚠️ How safe are the geothermal field trails?
They are marked, but the ground is fragile and hot. Straying from the trails can be dangerous (the pools reach boiling temperatures). Always follow your guide's instructions.
